in two weeks we'll be leaving portland for the santiam river valley via hwy22. from there we plan to jump onto back roads/trails roundabout through to crabtree lake, and a few other locations that escape me, but intend on ending up in or near bend. Id like to explore hole-in-the-wall, and crack-in-the-ground, and bend backcountry is spectacular on its own.

we leave Wednesday the 27th evening, return sunday afternoon the first.

We are currently planning our route, but the plan is to see a few lakes and caves along the way, maybe do a bit of kayaking, target shooting, etc.

If some of you guys are interested in going, or have some insight into the area, let me know!

I havent met any of ya', but I thought Id extend this invitation.

a little about what to expect:

We are all 30ish blue collar dudes, laid back, done with our party days

this is a man trip, - the wives and kids are all either out of town, or staying home this time.

lots of backroad miles. we plan to cover about 3-400 miles total, at least 50% being off pavement. but no idea on trail conditions until we are on it.

lift not super necessary, but heavy tires a must.

CB comms a must, we dont want to leave anybody without knowing it.

recovery points of course, standard offroad loadout
the key is a self sufficient, reliable vehicle with bonus fuel payload

bring your own food, etc, not that we dont mind sharing.

we plan on grilling over the fire most nights, cracking open some good bourbon, nothing too elaborate

You must conduct yourself like a responsible outdoorsman.

expect good company, good food, gorgeous santiam back country, and one awesome adventure you'll not soon forget.

edit: sorry about the non compliant layout, didn't see the rules till too late.
