^^ a couple of reason for the 241. With the 241 I only need 1 driveshaft and it can be a junkyard pick. the Atlas 4 speed will require 2 custom driveshafts. I am planning NV4500 swap, which again, will require 2 different driveshafts. In the essence of time and money I will wait for the Atlas until I assemble everything for the auto to manual swap. This will get me on the trail quicker and I can resell the 241 for a good price when done.
But then again, if I like this 3 speed auto (TF727) I can just go with the Atlas and get different shafts and sell the 241.
I am hoping to have it road ready for the Task run. It won't be waiting on the Atlas then shafts. I really want to get it up to the Warn Tour, which means I have to get the EFI, Trans case, locker, and insulation done before the 6th. Not much time when working and family. Who's coming down to help?

I'm surprised that has a Dana 20 in the rear , that's gonna be a nice rig Biff !!

My uncle had two of them ... That's what my front axle is out of ..
Your never really done but testing and modifying is all part of the fun !!

If I can make another suggestion Biff, go with ARB's for diffs. Just like in your Jeep, you will choose when they are on or off. For street drivingq, and off road, they can't be beat. Hope to see the tank at WARN!

    Tank Update:
So the past 1 1/2 weeks I have been putting some time in the tank. At the same time I have been trying to work. Difficult....

I got the (frickin huge) np229 Tcase out.

    004go.jpg
I dont know how much it weighs, but holy cow...

I used my trans jack to get it out.

    Dont laugh it works...
I was put in just last month by some **** mechanic in West Linn. When I bought he said it was a new rebuild and working. I wasn't working only because they didn't look further to find the vacuum lines were crap and it didn't stay in 4 high or 4 low...

In with the np241 "Rock Trac" from a 2006 Rubicon:

After getting it in and the shift bracket and linkage lined up the bracket didn't fit on my tunnel very well. I had a 1" gap from floor to bracket:

Some texting with expedtionNW gave me some good ideas and I was able to get it to work and fit right. Best $5 spent...
I coated the underside and painted the inside and sealed it up with some silicone. ripped out about 9 feet of vacuum lines...

Front and rear driveshafts installed. it is ready to roll...
    not really...
