    Cool 1998 Rav4 - 2 Door - Fun Rig!

Picking up a new adventure rig. Mostly fun and good mpg. And it's 4WD so that's cool.

    Details:

    1998 Rav4 - 2 Door - Convertible - Manual - 2WD - 108k miles
At 2,500lbs, this is one of the most fun little "SUV" type rigs on the road. And rare! Crazy hard to find nice ones. It will be getting typical restore and maintenance work.

1998 Tacoma - 37s, ARBs, Dual Cases and Blower.
    1998 Ravi - Manual, 2DR, Convertible!

Hmmm, what does good mpg mean in a 4x4. Maybe a Subaru? ;-)

Well, I drove to Cali yesterday to pickup the rig. Unfortunately, it was not as described. No new rig yet. Hopefully, will find the same vehicle in better condition.

    Not a Subaru. Under 2,800lbs.

Vitara would be cool too. I'd consider one for those... 2dr, Soft top, Manual, 4x4

What I want is a bit more rare... 1998-2000 Rav4 2Dr 4WD Manual - Hard Top dual sunroof (possibly soft top)

If anyone finds a clean one let me know. Prefer low miles and clean/original.

    Purchased Ravi2!

It's a 1998 Rav4 - 2 Door - Soft Top w/ Sunroof - 5 speed manual. It has 108k original miles. Needs a bunch of maintenance type work but sooo much fun to drive. There are cars that have "cool guy" specs and then cars that are just fun. This is the fun one. You'd never understand unless driving it. Probably due to the fantastic handling, extreme light weight, manual gear box and peppy motor.

2WD model which should be fine. Perfect run around rig and hauling mountain bikes and paddle boards. Will put some lift under it, improved tires and arb air compressor. It should be around 30mpg and runs on regular petrol. Could always convert to 4WD but thinking to keep it light weight (good mpg and fun). Will be ordering parts this week and digging into it next week.

Such an awesome rare rig! Love it.
